Most would agree that the signature couplet from that famed chapter is:

 “An excellent wife who can find?

She is far more precious than jewels.”

So this Sunday morning let’s hear a Mother’s Day sermon from Proverbs 31. However, the verses we’ve chosen as the foundation for this message may surprise you. They aren’t often preached.  Nor are they about an excellent wife. Instead, this powerful text (verses 1-9) is straight from the mouth of a real mom – the Queen Mother – intended for her royal son, Lemuel.  The message she delivers is vitally important for Christ’s church today – especially when we hear it in light of Jesus and the gospel. Happy Mother’s Day!

1. It will be a blast! I’ve been there recently, and there are so many things to do. Fun activities like zip lines, ropes courses, mountain biking, rock climbing and of course whitewater rafting. And it’s not just for thrill seekers. There are also calmer activities like easy mountain biking through the forest, hiking, calm water kayaking on the adjacent scenic Catawba river, eco-trekking etc.

5. Total cost will only be about $60 per person. Scholarships will be available.
