Brian Russo

Brian was born in New York City.  As a teenager, he moved to South Carolina.  At 18 years old, he went back to New York City for a mission trip – it was there that he was born again.  From this moment, he had a passion for evangelism.  He went to the Boardwalk Chapel in Wildwood, NJ to do street evangelism and then went to Brazil to serve in an orphanage there.  Next, he went to New York City to do children’s evanglism in the innercity of the Bronx and Brooklyn – ministering for two years to hundreds, sometimes thousands, of children and their families through outdoor and indoor Sunday School programs.  There, he met his wife, Sami.  Once they were married, they moved back to Greenville.  Together, they have served two more summers at the Boardwalk Chapel, fostered three girls, and served as house parents to homeless children for three years at Miracle Hill Children’s Home.  Brian has also served as a deacon at Devenger Rd. Presbyterian Church where Brian and Sami led a Kids’ Outreach Program for Christmas.  Brian is passionate about teaching and seeks to communicate God’s truth in fun and creative ways.  He is very excited to minister to the children and families of Horizon Church.
